Every garden begins with an understanding of its setting, its character and the people who will use it. Our design process is considered and collaborative, bringing together thoughtful spatial planning, refined detailing and a strong horticultural approach. From the initial consultation through to planting and completion, we develop each garden with care, creating spaces that feel natural, purposeful and beautifully resolved.
Initial Enquiry
Following your initial enquiry, we’ll arrange a short consultation to discuss your garden, your aspirations, inspirations and budget. We’ll also talk you through our design process, ensuring you have a clear understanding of what to expect at each stage. This initial conversation typically takes 20–40 minutes, after which we can arrange a design consultation to begin developing your garden.
Concept Plan
Drawing on the agreed design brief, we’ll develop a Concept Plan that brings the overall vision for your garden to life. This includes an initial layout, supporting illustrations and a mood board to establish the character, atmosphere and planting direction of the space.
We’ll then review the concept together, refining the design and incorporating your feedback before progressing to the next stage.
Your Garden Design Consultation
Our initial design consultation is an opportunity to explore your aspirations for the garden and how you want to use the space — from dining and entertaining to relaxing and enjoying the planting.
We’ll walk the garden together, considering its existing character, opportunities and practical constraints. Following the consultation, we’ll prepare a detailed design brief for your review, ensuring the direction reflects your vision before we begin the design process.
Master Plan
Once the concept is approved, we’ll develop the Master Plan — a detailed set of drawings that brings the design into precise focus and provides the framework for construction.
It will set out the garden layout, materials, levels and key construction details, giving your landscaper the information needed to deliver the design accurately, with careful attention to detail and finish.
Site Survey
Once the design brief is agreed, we’ll carry out a detailed site survey to establish the key characteristics of your garden, including its dimensions, levels, soil, existing trees and structures. Where required, we’ll arrange a professional land survey to ensure accurate measurements, with the level of detail tailored to the scale and complexity of the project.
Planting Plan
The final stage of the design process is the planting plan — where the garden truly comes to life. Each scheme is carefully considered for the conditions of the site, creating a planting palette that feels natural, cohesive and evolves beautifully through the seasons.
The plan includes a scaled layout showing the position, quantities and species of every plant, alongside a visual plant list, detailed plant profiles and a maintenance schedule to support the garden as it grows and matures.
Tender Package
We can help you identify and select the right hard landscaper for your project, guiding you through the tender and selection process to ensure the design is priced and delivered to the required standard.
We’ll prepare a comprehensive tender package containing all the drawings and design information needed for accurate pricing and construction. Before work begins, we’ll also meet with your chosen landscaper on site to walk through the design, clarify any details and ensure everyone starts with a clear understanding of the project.
Building Your Garden
Once the design is complete, the vision begins to take shape. We work closely with experienced landscape contractors and trusted specialists to ensure every element of the design is delivered with care, precision and attention to detail. From the initial preparation and construction through to the final planting, we oversee the process to ensure the finished garden reflects the original design and is built to stand the test of time.
Ongoing Support
Our involvement doesn’t end once construction begins. We remain on hand throughout the build to support you and your landscape contractor, providing guidance, answering questions and resolving any details that arise along the way.
By staying closely involved, we help ensure the design is delivered with consistency, care and attention to detail — right through to the finished garden.

We’ve had the privilege of delivering planting plans for some of the region’s leading garden designers, developing an in-depth understanding of how thoughtful planting can transform a space.
Today, we bring that same expertise to our own designs. From plant selection and sourcing to careful placement and establishment, our experienced team manages the planting process with the knowledge and attention to detail it deserves.
