Design and Evolve - Alwoodley, North Leeds

This half an acre garden looks out across stunning panoramic views of the Aire Valley and across to Almscliffe Cragg and Wharfedale. Nestled atop a hill in the idyllic Yorkshire Golden Triangle on the edge of Alwoodley, North Leeds, this exposed site initially needed some tough planting to cope with the conditions. Having created sheltered areas through strategic planting we were able to add more interesting elements to the planting.

As our longest running design and evolve project we were fortunate to witness this garden's progressive transformation, year after year, as it flourished and bloomed into a splendid haven. The clients specifications grew and changed as we progressed along our gardening journey together, and the garden is now interwoven with a tapestry of nostalgia and experimentation, with areas evoking childhood memories for the client and more recently enabling the sale of the property despite a difficult market. It was great for us to hear that it was the garden that captured the imagination of the new owner and was the main factor in the house sale!
