A Mediterranean planting scheme for a newly landscaped garden

We were asked to design a planting scheme for this recently landscaped garden. The clients wanted cool colours, a Mediterranean feel and plenty of lavender: a relaxing, functional space surrounded by beautiful planting.

The garden's standout feature is a sweeping, bowl-shaped border that wraps around the patio and two sides of the house. With such a large area to fill, it needed high-impact planting, so we divided it into five zones. Each has its own points of interest, while blending seamlessly into the borders around it.

Drifts of lavender, salvia and agapanthus bring cool blues and purples, softened by silvery foliage and airy grasses, so the garden feels calm, scented and full of movement from early summer into autumn.
