Your garden has been carefully designed and planted. To ensure it matures as intended, we offer a optional Aftercare Package, carried out by the same team who created it.

Gardens are not static

They grow, shift, and mature over time. Plants spread, self-seed, or decline; light conditions change as trees and shrubs develop; and weather patterns vary year to year. Your garden will change with the seasons and evolve over the years.

All the members of our award winning design team are qualified horticulturists with years of experience in maintaining and developing borders. Their expertise ensures your garden is not only maintained but guided to reach its full potential.

By continuing to work with the original design team, you benefit from a consistent, knowledgeable approach rooted in the vision of your garden.

A beautiful garden is the result of both design and ongoing relationship. The more you observe and engage with it, the better it will reflect your needs and respond to its environment.

What to Expect Over Time

Growth & Maturity
Plants grow larger, some faster than expected. Regular pruning and thinning will be necessary.
Self-Seeding
Some perennials or annuals may self-seed into new spots. You may wish to keep or remove these volunteers.
Dieback & Decline
Even well-cared-for plants can fail due to pests, disease, or extreme weather. Be ready to replace or revise planting areas.
Shifting Conditions
Shade may increase as trees mature, or areas may become drier over time.

Best Practices

Observe Regularly
Walk through the garden weekly to spot changes early.
Adjust as Needed
Don’t be afraid to lift, divide, or replace plants. Editing the garden is part of the process.
Keep a Garden Journal
Record what thrives, what struggles, and when tasks were done.
Refresh Design Every 3–5 Years
Small tweaks can restore balance, improve function, or renew visual interest.

Our Aftercare Package is designed to support the successful establishment of your newly planted borders during their most important early stages.

We will create an aftercare package tailored to your garden, carried out by the same horticulturally trained designers who created your garden. During each visit, we’ll assess how well the planting is settling in, answer any questions you may have, and provide expert care where it’s needed.

We’ll work directly on your borders and give them any attention they require — from pruning and feeding to adjustments that support long-term health and balance.

These visits allow us to:

Assess the health and progress of your planting
Identify any issues early and advise on appropriate care
Make subtle adjustments to support long-term growth
Offer you time to ask questions or raise any concerns
Offer you a written report on the development of your garden

All of our planting designers are qualified horticulturists with years of hands-on experience in developing and maintaining borders. Their knowledge ensures your garden is looked after with skill and consistency.

Pricing

All our after care packages are bespoke and can be arranged to fit around you. For example - we would suggest a minimum of 3 visits a year but if you want more or less, we will endeavour to accommodate you.

Full/Half Day Aftercare Visit

This price includes Liz and Tom for full or half day working on your newly planted borders, offering expert advice and providing expert aftercare.

Aftercare Day (6hours/2ppl) or Half Day (3hours/2ppl) recommendation will be made based on your garden size. Please ask for more details.

Aftercare report is an optional extra itemising all things we’ve discussed during the aftercare visit. Includes maintenance suggestions and proposed development and future planting ideas.
