The Old School House

TThe setting
This historic school house conversion looks out over a beautifully complex garden. In the lower three-quarters, a maze of narrow paths winds between large, raised herbaceous borders.

The brief
Our work focused on these borders. The aim was to capture a nostalgic sense of the Yorkshire countryside, full of movement and growth.

The planting
We chose a naturalistic style, built around a variety of plant forms in cool colours, with bursts of warmer, hotter tones here and there. The existing structural planting already divided the garden into separate areas, so we designed views through it, glimpses that create intrigue and draw you on.

The result
A garden that invites you to explore, whether that's wandering from one section to the next or stopping to look closely at the planting itself.

Every GardenWild garden starts with a conversation.
